Cuna de Platero comes back to Fruit Attraction with its commitment to R + D + i and its own variety of blueberries

Cuna de Platero comes back to Fruit Attraction in an edition that will again have a face-to-face part, after the virtual format due to last year’s COVID-19. In it, it will show its commitment to R + D + i and its own variety of blueberries, Cupla, sustainability and health.

Cuna de Platero decided a few years ago to have its own R + D + i area, thus promoting research in different areas, such as varietals. Cupla will be one of the main protagonists of the fair, a variety of blueberries that stands out for its flavor and quality, as well as for more technical aspects such as earliness, size and postharvest shelf life.

The cooperative, which has been present in all editions of the fair, face-to-face and virtual, and celebrates number 13 this year, will be represented in Madrid from October 5 to 7 by its professional team, in the field and in the different areas that make it what it is today. “Despite having lived through a pandemic, with its complexity, difficulties and learning, in Cuna de Platero we are the same as always“, its Chairmain, Francisco José Gómez explained.

In addition, sustainability and the importance of the consumption of berries for health will once again be the main pillars of Cuna de Platero’s presence at this event, which will mark two years since its accession to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s leading corporate sustainability initiative. Since then, the cooperative has aligned its activity with the ten principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and works mainly to achieve SDG number 3 (Health and well-being); 7 (Affordable and clean energy); 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure).

On the other hand, it will spread the healthy properties of berries, recognized as healthy foods by the Spanish Heart Foundation (FEC), and will promote healthy lifestyle habits in the hands of entities such as the 5 a Day Association.

Cuna de Platero will once again be present with a stand of 128 m2 (Hall 9, stand 9E03) at Fruit Attraction, consolidating itself as a reference for the fruit and vegetables sector, it plans to bring together 2,000 direct exhibiting companies and 95,000 professionals from 140 countries
